Performance Play Music School is a privately owned music school/store in Aurora, CO that offers private, group and performance-based music lessons & classes as well as private music-related events (such as birthday parties). In addition, we sell beginner instruments, music books, and musical accessories and rent beginner band & orchestra instruments, guitars, and keyboards.
Performance Play was started by brothers Dan and Joel Menchey as a way to create a Mom-friendly learning facility for aspiring music students of all ages (including Moms… and Dads too!). Dan, the funnier and more creative of the two brothers, is the General Manager/Music Director, is one of our teachers and is clearly the personality of the school. Dan’s professional background includes over a decade of teaching drums and performance throughout Colorado. Joel, the more serious conservative brother, has been the owner of Menchey Music Service, a 8-store chain of school music stores in PA/MD since 1995. Both Dan and Joel have been performing musicians since the 1990s, Dan having toured on several national tours and Joel as an acoustic artist in Central Pennsylvania.
